Introducing the 2019 Acura RDX Prototype

Not too long ago we previewed some new Acura vehicles showcased at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. This week, we’re taking a closer look at the 2019 Acura RDX Prototype, which is expected to be available to our Chesapeake, VA customers before summer’s end.

Even though we have the 2018 Acura RDX in stock right now, we haven’t seen an Acura SUV quite like this. Neither have you. Acura is calling the 2019 Acura RDX a new direction for the company, and its new look and features suggest this isn’t just marketing talk.

The SUV’s Acura press release provides some details:

The SUV will be the first vehicle based completely on the successful Acura Precision Concept

The turbocharged 2.0-liter DOHC VTEC engine features a flatter torque curve with more low-end availability

Its ten-speed transmission is a first in the segment

Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) with advanced torque vectoring, returns to the Acura RDX

There’ll be an available 710 watt Acura ELS Studio 3D 16-channel sound system

Expect more premium materials, including brushed aluminum, Napa leather, and Olive Ash wood

The True Touchpad interface and panoramic roof are new standard equipment

Arriving at Acura dealerships by mid-2018

Also worthy of noting: all 2019 Acura RDX models will come standard with AcuraWatch™ safety features. These include next-generation AcuraLink® with 4G LTE Wi-Fi, Surround-View Camera System, Hill Start Assist, Blind-Spot Information system, front and rear parking sensors, and Rear Cross-Traffic Monitor.

This new Acura SUV arrives at Hall Acura Virginia Beach sooner than you think, and we hope you’ll be here when it comes. For more information, or to test drive a new Acura SUV, visit us at 3200 Virginia Beach Blvd., today.
